The module does not equip students for carrying out research. It develops their ability to understand, appreciate, review and consider the results of research in the context of other evidence and research studies.

The module assignments enable students to demonstrate their literature search skills and understanding of research designs and methods, and to review evidence and research on a subject. This is achieved through a multiple-choice exam and a written piece of work.

On successful completion of this module a student will be able to:

• Construct a systematic literature search to identify relevant research reports and other evidence.
• Examine, analyse, and evaluate different research paradigms, methodologies, methods and aspects º£½ÇÊÓƵ research process.
• Evaluate the evidence on a specific topic and discuss how the findings relate to practice.
• Demonstrate how research awareness may potentially impact on current or future practice.

The aim of this module is to build on students’ knowledge and understanding of research and the relevance of evidence in the development of practice.
